TeamViewer developed the Airbackup tool to help businesses back up their data offisite; and, should an incident occur, easily restore their data. Airbackup will automatically back up data to the web. It will back up files, network shares, the system state, MS SQL databases, and MySQL databases.

A wizard will take you through all the steps you need to take to install Airbackup on your PC and set up the basic configuration. You will get to pick a personal encryption key, save your backup device information, set up email reports for your backup, specify what files to back up, and check out the Airbackup Manager, a console that lets you manage all devices within your account or company, overview the backup status, access statistics, and remotely manage devices.

Airbackup runs in your web browser. Double click the Airbackup shortcut on your desktop and your browser will launch and present Airbackup’s interface. Mind you, it is a good looking interface that is very easy to navigate. From this interface you can easily access everything that Airbackup has to offer – but unless you get a license, you can only access it for a trial period of 14 days.

Here’s a quick look at the main reasons why you would want to get Airbackup: it automatically backs up important data; in case of a disaster, it can restore important data; you can use the Manager console to remotely manage devices; play with options that let you implement a schedule, use filters, set up scripts, limit bandwidth use, and more; encryption is used to keep your data safe (private key encryption, 256-bit AES encryption, 128-bit SSL encryption); maximum data compression; and more.

TeamViewer’s Airbackup is a properly good data backup solution. Businesses can use it to back up their data to the web.
